The French shoe industry federation (FFC) has sold SEPIC, a subsidiary that organizes the MIDEC and Mod’Amont shows, to Tarsus, a UK-based company that specializes in organizing fairs and events and that publishes directories. For Tarsus, which stages 17 fairs in France, this is the first move into the fashion sector. François Browne de Kilmaine, an old hand of FFC, will continue to run SEPIC. MIDEC, the French shoe show opening in Paris tomorrow, will follow the guidelines of a steering committee mandated by the FFC, which will concentrate on its core business, lobbying for the French shoe industry and helping it to take advantage of the new international production set-up.
