The GDS indicates that it will host a total of about 1,400 exhibitors at its next session in Düsseldorf on Sept. 15-17, or 8 percent more than one year ago, with a 30 percent increase in those exhibiting its premium segment. Scheduled to take place on Sept. 21-24 in Milan, MICAM will be larger, in spite of its steady refusal to admit low-cost shoe production companies from China, Vietnam and other countries with low labor costs. The Milan show will have 6 percent more exhibitors as one year ago, or a total of 1,651, with number of non-Italian exhibitors growing by 18 percent to 519. The total surface rented is up by 5.3 percent to 72,881 square meters.
