The Gucci brand enjoyed sales increases of 20.8 percent for its footwear and 21.9 percent for its women’s apparel in the first nine months of this year, leading the brand to post a 10.8 percent sales on a comparable basis for the period. Yves Saint Laurent saw its sales rise by 23 percent and Bottega Veneta grew by 50 percent. Sergio Rossi’s sales accelerated, contributing to a 25.4 percent increase for Gucci Group”s “other brands,” which also include Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney. Overall, Gucci Group posted a 9.7 percent sales increase for the 9-month period to €2,775 million, with growth of 15.2 percent in local currencies, including a 15.9 percent rise in the 3rd quarter. Gucci Group’s parent company, PPR Group, had a sales increase of only 6.8 percent on a comparable basis in the quarter, but the consolidation of Puma allowed it to book an overall increase of 21.9 percent to €5.2 billion.
