The Italian shoe company Pollini increased sales in the first quarter to €8.7 million from €8.3 million a year earlier. Aeffe, the Italian fashion group that owns Pollini, lifted sales by 3.6 percent to €74.5 million, while sales of its footwear and leathergoods division rose by 18.9 percent to €20.4 million. The group's Ebitda margin widened to 14.0 percent from 10.8 percent and the Ebitda of the footwear and leathergoods activities rose to €0.7 million from €0.6 million. Aeffe finished the quarter with a net profit of €1.9 million, compared with €0.8 million a year earlier. The company is confident that it will increase sales and profitability this year.
