The latest edition of Cuir à Paris, the Parisian leather and fur trade show, held on Sept. 17-19, saw the number of visitors increase by 21.5 percent and that of exhibitors by 8 percent compared with the September 2012 edition. The stand surface area was increased by 23 percent. The event is organized twice a year and its dates are closely related to the purchasing and supply schedules of the industry. Summer collections are presented at the February edition of the trade show. Cuir à Paris is organized by the French national leather council, Le Conseil National du Cuir. The latest September show attracted 17,000 professionals, mainly from Europe, 80 percent of the total number of visitors. This edition of the fair was marked by the resurgence of French buyers, up 20.5 percent on the September 2012 edition, as well as of their Italian counterparts, at 17 percent more than a year ago. Cuir à Paris is held at the Parc d'Expositions in Paris-Nord Villepinte at the same time as five other complementary shows including Expofil, Première Vision, Le Indigo, ModAmont, and Zoom by Fatex, all gathered under the label of Première Vision Pluriel. The six shows present a wide choice of supplies for personal goods, from clothing to leather goods, footwear and upholstery. The next edition of Cuir à Paris is scheduled to take place on Feb. 18-20, 2014, while the September edition is scheduled for Sept. 16-18, 2014.
