The number of buyers at the International Leather Week in Madrid grew by 1.5 percent last month, as compared to a year ago, reaching 21,821 people. Of these, 3,928 came from abroad, up 4 percent. Portugal contributed 1,092, followed by Italy whose contingent grew by 8 percent and by France, up 3 percent. The UK and Greece came next. Chile, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands and Russia showed the largest growth in attendance. As usual, the event comprised the national Spanish shoe show, Modacalzado, and the leathergoods show, Iberpiel. Modacalzado drew 683 exhibitors to its four halls.
