The organizers of MM&T, the Materials, Manufacturing & Technology leather fair in Hong Kong, have announced that they have added a new area called Sourcing Luxury for the 2013 edition of the trade show, while rearranging the sectorization of the products on display. Sourcing Luxury will gather producers of exotic skins such as python, crocodile, ostrich and shagreen, as well as high-quality vegetable-tanned leathers, components and accessories made of precious materials such as mother-of-pearl and coral, and handcrafted materials such as embroidered laces, passementerie and special handwoven natural fibers, among others. The new exhibit is meant to meet the growing demand from international fashion brands for new sources of luxury leather, materials, components and accessories. Organizers expect more than 1,250 exhibitors at the event, with 27 international group pavilions featuring representatives from Europe, North and South America, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. The upcoming edition of MM&T, which has been running since 1984, will be held on March 25-27 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
