The Provincial Court of Madrid has ruled against JD Sports in the lawsuit it filed in February 2016 against the Spanish chain Oteros Sport over the “Sneakers for All” logo. Founded in 1995, Oteros operates 25 stores under the “Sneakers for All” name, selling sports apparel and shoes, and 60 separate Oteros stores for sporting goods. According to the ruling, Oteros' “Sneakers for All” identity complies with the requisite criteria for originality, authenticity and differentiation with respect to the identity of JD Sports. The court has sentenced the British company to pay all court costs.
