The Serafin group, the Munich-based holding company that invests in medium-sized businesses, has successfully acquired Bama, German manufacturer of shoe care products. The product portfolio includes polish, balm, protectors and deodorants, a variety of insoles and accessories such as laces. The products are distributed under the Bama and Woly brands in specialty shoe stores throughout Europe. In October, antitrust authorities approved the acquisition of Bama by Serafin from SC Johnson, the U.S. consumer goods manufacturer. Bama's Kiwi brand remains with SC Johnson. Neither Serafin nor SC Johnson has reported on financial details of the transaction. Bama will continue to be managed by Benno Duetz. The company intends to focus more on the development of innovations and to extend its product range.
