The SKAT task force, which aims to bust counterfeit operations in Denmark, had a successful year in 2008, meaning that the number of counterfeit shoes entering the country is growing. With 719 seizures during the year - worth 125 million Danish kronor (€16.8m-$21.1m) of shoes - it was almost double the amount of copies they stopped in 2007. SKAT has set up a special website for consumers to raise awareness about copied shoes: www.stoppiraterne.dk.
