The World Trade Organization has reported a surge in new anti-dumping investigations during the first half of 2008. While European investigators review suspicions of dumping of leather shoes from China and Vietnam, the U.S. Department of Commerce has determined that there has been no dumping from Vietnam for five categories of clothing. Its investigation compared trends in unit values and import levels to those of exporters in many other countries such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand and the CAFTA-DR group of countries in Central America.
