The world's rugged outdoor footwear market rose by 6.8 percent to €5.15 billion in 2018 in terms of dollars, according to an annual survey of key vendors conducted by the Outdoor Industry Compass in collaboration with Sporting Goods Intelligence. It rose by an estimated 6.1 percent in the U.S. and by 10.2 percent in the rest of the world. However, the growth in local currencies was lower as the dollar lost about 5 percent of its value against the euro in the course of last year. (More in the Outdoor Industry Compass).
