The Wortmann group's sales rose by only 0.3 percent to €1,016 million in the past financial year, ended on May 31. The export ratio grew slightly to 53.5 percent of the turnover, but while the company performed better in France, the Benelux countries and Poland, its sales declined slightly in Russia and Ukraine, where Wortmann is a market leader. The new U.S. subsidiary is performing according to plan. The Novi Footwear subsidiary in the Far East resumed its growth. The number of stores and shop-in-shops increased by 6 percent to 1,003, of which 330 are run under the group's star brand, Tamaris. The general outlook is cautious, as further declines are expected in Russia, Ukraine and Greece.
