There were 19.871 visitors at the last International Footwear and Leather Goods Week (SIPIEL) in Madrid, which includes the Modacalzado shoe show, representing a drop when compared with the year-ago attendance of 21,821 people. The number of buyers coming from outside of Spain decreased by 34.9 percent to 2,912 at the fair, which took place from Sept. 29 to Oct.1. Conversely, the number of visitors coming from Portugal increased by 80.7 percent to 1,353. The show’s organizers said there was also strong attendance from Italy, the United Kingdom and France. The total number of exhibitors at the Modacalzado show declined too, going from 683 to 645.
