Thirty-five Italian shoemakers showed off their lines for next fall/winter at Shoes From Italy, a trade fair held in Beijing last month. Most of them came from the Marche, Tuscany, Veneto and Campania regions, and included Pakerson from Florence as well as companies that make shoes for brands such as the Mariella Burani Fashion Group. In 2010, Italian footwear exports to China jumped by 46.6 percent. The rose by 11.6 worldwide in the first 11 months of the year, according to the president of Italy's foreign trade institute, Umberto Vattani.
