This year's edition of Pitti Uomo, a menswear fair that hosts many shoe brands, welcomed 24,300 buyers from around 100 countries and a total of 36,000 visitors. The figures were flat from last year, according to the organizers, who highlighted good trends in foreign participation while Italians were down by 3,5 percent as compared to the January 2016 edition. Attendance from Russia was on the rise, while figures from Turkey showed a decline. The countries leading in terms of attendance included, once again, Germany, Japan, the U.K., France, Spain, the Netherlands and the U.S. Attendance from Southeast Asian countries was stable while figures were on the rise for Eastern and Northern Europe, in particular from Denmark and Sweden.
