Thomas Ridder, board member of Leder & Schuh in charge of marketing and purchasing, has been appointed as sole CEO of the leading Austrian shoe retailing group. He previously shared the responsibility with Michael Meyer-Heinisch, who remains on the executive board. The change follows an expansion of the board to include Rainer Kundörfer, who will be in charge of the group’s expansion in Europe. The 43-year-old German executive had joined Leder & Schuh in 2002 to take care of its strong business development in Germany. Another board member, Gottfried Maresch, remains in charge of finance. Leder & Schuh recently inaugurated a 3,000-square-meter Humanic store in Vienna’s Mariahilferstrasse, after big openings in Frankfurt and Cologne.
