As reported in the last issue, consolidated sales were up by 5.2 percent to €377.5 million for the first half of this year at the Tod's group.

The newly reported profit figures were even better. The operating profit before amortization (Ebitda) rose by 14.9 percent to €90.7 million, for a 2.0 percentage point increase in the margin to 24 percent. Ebit rose by 17.5 percent to €74.3 million, and its margin climbed by 2.1 percentage points to 19.7 percent. The strong growth of profits was mainly driven by the ongoing sales growth, combined with a higher incidence of full-price sales and increased operating efficiency. On a currency-neutral basis, Ebitda would have been €88.5 million, and Ebit would have been €72.2 million.

The group's profit before taxes increased by 23.2 percent to €77 million, due in part to favorable currency effects. Consolidated net income was up by 21.6 percent to €52.4 million.
