Expo Riva Schuh, the leading international shoe fair for the low and medium segments of the footwear market, will hold a digital version of its winter edition from Jan. 16 to 19. The event will be held jointly with the handbag trade fair Gardabags.
Dubbed as The Home Edition, the organizer of the shows, Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, stressed that the format was a “special one-off edition” and was not a virtual trade fair, nor an e-commerce platform nor a catalog, but rather “an integration of digital into the classic fair offering.”
Roberto Pellegrini, chairman of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, noted that “this special edition signals the start of a long route of evolution, aimed at supplying all our professionals with new ways of networking, training and sharing of content, especially at this difficult time.”
Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the organizer had to cancel the mid-June editions of Expo Riva Schuh and Gardabags, which are held in the quaint Italian town of Riva del Garda. It also tried to bring forward the winter edition to Dec. 11-14 but with the resurgence of the pandemic Riva del Garda Fierecongressi decided to revert to the shows’ traditional mid-January slot.
In the forthcoming digital edition, the organizer pledged to “accomodate the businesses and networking of all the buyers and companies who have signed up.” It also announced that there will be a string of talk shows, presentations, testimonials and shows during the event.
