The organizers of the Frankfurt Fashion Week have scrapped plans for a physical event and will go ahead with a digital-only edition amid lingering uncertainty, as Germany and the whole of Europe continue to grapple with the Covid-19 pandemic.
The trade fair will be held from July 5 to 9, the organizers Messe Frankfurt and Premium Group said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the new Frankfurt Fashion Week (FFW) Studio was launched as a digital meeting place for all fashion professionals, with the aim of offering “inspiration, but above all present the topics of sustainability and digitization,” said Anita Tillmann, managing director of Premium Group. A curated livestream will be made available on four channels (Trade Show, Conference, Experience and Arts & Entertainment), and all contents will later be available on demand.
The fashion trade fairs Premium, Seek, Neonyt and The Ground, and the runway presentations will also be postponed due to the pandemic, and are scheduled to take place from January 19 to 21, 2022.
