Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele said the fashion house, owned by the Kering group, would leave the traditional fashion calendar as it plans to show twice a year only. “I will abandon the worn-out ritual of seasonalities and shows to regain a new cadence, closer to my expressive call,” Michele wrote on Gucci’s Instagram page. “We will meet just twice a year, to share the chapters of a new story.” The announcement comes after Saint Laurent, also part of Kering, said in April that it would opt out of the Paris Fashion week to show on its own schedule this year.
