Informa Markets, a British organizer of exhibitions and events, has postponed to Sept.29-Oct.1 its summer edition of the Las Vegas fashion marketplace that features Micam Americas and two other important events, WWDMagic and Project. The shows were previously planned for Aug. 17-19. The venue is the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Informa noted that the fashion marketplace usually takes place in August to align with the fashion industry’s buying cycles. The decision to postpone the dates is due to the uncertainty regarding reopening plans across the U.S., as lockdowns introduced to combat the Covid-19 pandemic are being gradually eased, as well as shifts in this year’s buying season.
The September edition will feature a new layout which will include separate and more intimate micro markets taking place within a single venue. While the most appropriate show design is still being considered, the formats will all be guided by physical distancing guidelines, crowd-control measures, and enhanced cleaning protocols, it said.
Informa added that it is further investing in the development of digital solutions to support brands and retailers. The initiatives will complement the physical events, and “revolutionize B2B fashion commerce,” it claims.
Informa joined forces with Micam Milano to launch Micam Americas, for the first edition this year. It replaces the FN Platform show and is due to be held twice a year, in February and in August under normal circumstances.
