The Moda Made in Italy footwear trade show, that was scheduled to be held Sept. 27-29 in Munich has been cancelled. The March edition of the show had already been abandoned due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Italian footwear association, Assocalzaturifici, which organizes the event, said that it will continue its partnership with Munich Order Center (MOC), the location that has hosted the trade fair for more than two decades.
Under a deal reached between the Italian association, through its commercial arm ANCI Servizi, and MOC, footwear companies will be able to open a showroom in which to meet with buyers on the dates for which the fair was originally scheduled.
German buyers and the show’s exhibitors will also be able to use a digital platform launched by Micam Milano, the Milan-based trade fair organized by Assocalzaturifici. Micam Milano is being held from Sept. 20-23. But from Sept.15 to Nov. 15, the trade show will run Micam Milano Digital Show, a platform powered by the American company NuOrder that will allow exhibitors to support their businesses online while offering buyers the opportunity to purchase directly through the portal.
