The Wortmann Group, one of Europe’s largest shoe companies, said that its first virtual trade show, called Garda Days, was very susscessful. Exceeding expectations, it attracted over 2,000 online visitors from 46 countries on June 17 and 18. More than 150 requests for appointments were made before the event for interactive chats in virtual showrooms. The German company presented the spring/summer 2021 collections of its Tamaris, Marco Tozzi, Caprice, S.Oliver Shoes and Jana shoe brands through video conferences and livestreams. As usual, Wortmann also introduced supplementary developments for the autumn/winter 2020/21 season. Intensive discussions were held on the current situation and joint measures to cope with it. Wortmann has been a strong supporter of the Expo Riva Schuh show in Italy to kick off its product presentations. At the beginning of April, Riva del Garda Fierecongressi cancelled the summer edition of the show, usually held in mid-June, because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, Wortmann decided to follow the same timeline to organize its Garda Days, using a specially developed website. The company says it has collected valuable input to help make the format even more attractive in the future.
