Two private investment companies, KKR & Co and Sycamore Partners, are considering a bid for Jones Group, according to The Wall Street Journal. Other strategic and institutional investors have reportedly shown interest in parts of the company, which could then see its footwear retail and wholesale operations split off. Those include important properties such as Kurt Geiger, Joan & David, Nine West and Stuart Weitzman, among others. Jones appointed Citigroup last July to sound out the market for a sale of the company or parts of it.
