Vans has taken over the distribution of its products in Sweden and Denmark, starting with the autumn/winter 2012 collections. Vans' parent company, VF Corporation, is opening subsidiaries in both countries, with their own showrooms and their own sales and marketing staffs, independently of other operations of the group in the region. Andreas Olsson, a 32-year-old former distributor of Burton Snowboards in Sweden, has been appointed country sales manager for Vans in Scandinavia, based in Gothenburg. He will be assisted by a marketing coordinator, Marie Ossiander, and a sales person, Martin Gustafsson. The main point of contact in Denmark will be Björn Söderberg, who previously worked as an agent for Vans outerwear and snowboard boots with the current Danish distributor, Bonito Distribution. Bonito and Szamer Sport, Vans' distributor in Sweden, will continue to be responsible for the spring/summer 2012 collection.
