Viola Metzner and Hans-Josef Orth are the new owners of the German Rohde Group since the beginning of November. They are exclusive shareholders of the German shoe producer, taking over the shares held by Wheatfield Investments, Morgan Stanley and Constantin Bastian Leander Venture Capital. As reported previously in Shoe Intelligence, Oliver Kraxner, who took over Rohde's management at the beginning of 2011, was supposed to take over the company itself by the end of October. He managed to restore the company to profitability last year on sales of around €40 million, and he will continue to run it as chief executive. After cost cuts made in the previous years, Rohde now aims to invest in its product range, production and in a company-owned logistics system.
