While several Italian sole manufacturers have gone bankrupt, Vibram raised its sales by 10 percent to nearly €100 million last year thanks to strong efforts on the product and the brand. About 30 percent of its soles are now produced at its Chinese factory, whose deliveries are growing at 15-20 percent a year. About 50 percent of revenues comes from the outdoor sector, with Merrell acting as a particularly strong partner. Another 30 percent comes from the casual/comfort sector, where Clarks, Faith and Harrys of London recently joined established partners like Giorgio Armani, Hugo Boss, Prada and Tod's.
