Working together with customs authorities and law enforcement agencies all over the world to crack down on counterfeiters, Deckers Brands, the parent company of Ugg, has taken legal action against 60,000 websites that are allegedly selling copies of its Ugg shoes. RCK Footwear, Shoe Dynasty, Boston International and Andrew Lu are;mentioned among the alleged counterfeiters. Deckers is also helping consumers to identify fakes through new social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter, and proposing to help them to get a refund if they have purchased counterfeit shoes. Photos and videos posted on a new dedicated “UGG counterfeit” page on Facebook help customers to distinguish between authentic and fake products. An online product gallery puts authentic and counterfeit items side by side. Consumers are encouraged to ask questions and to check out a list of authorized Ugg dealers before making a purchase.
