Wortmann has announced the opening of a web shop for its Tamaris brand for the brick-and-mortar retailers affiliated with the ANWR Group, who will offer the products on a dedicated online marketplace due to be launched in July. ANWR will provide a cloud-based technology, Qualibet, as a solution for the e-commerce infrastructure, including the transfer of data based on an integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and the management of the orders. ANWR developed Qualibet for its multi-brand internet platform, schuhe.de. The partners plan to internationalize the web shop for retailers outside Germany. The partnership was announced during a Tamaris System Partner Workshop that was attended by the operators of over 250 Tamaris stores all over Europe. Since 2017, Tamaris has pursued a strategy to integrate physical retailers in its web shop, introducing a series of omni-channel concepts such as ship-from-store, which will be deployed internationally in the second half of 2019, after the completion of its rollout in Germany. Another system uses a GPS signal in the customers' mobile phones to detect whether an item placed in the shopping basket on tamaris.com is in stock at a Tamaris store nearby. At the end of the third quarter, the Tamaris web shop will be re-launched to offer customers a modernized digital brand ecosystem with smarter functions.
