Zalando has begun tests in Germany and France for a new application, called Movment (sic), whereby the products are directly delivered by the supplier to the customer. Zalando is also widening its test of same-day delivery in Germany. The test began in September in Berlin, where customers were allowed to order products before 3 PM and get them delivered to their homes after 7 PM on the same day, using a special app. The test is now being carried out also in Cologne, Düsseldorf, Duisburg and several other cities in the densely populated Ruhr area of Germany, asking customers picked at random whether around 4 PM whether they would like to get the merchandise they ordered between 7 and 9 PM as an upgrade. The area can be quickly serviced from Zalando's distribution center in Mönchengladbach.
