Zalando is launching a new online sales platform for luxury products, called Emeza. It's starting up with a beta version for the German market and in a small way with high-end women's clothing, shoes, handbags and other accessories by 30 designer brands. By the time of its full-fledged launch, planned to take place in March or April, the number of brands should grow to 50 or even 70, competing with the likes of Net-a-porter, the luxury goods platform of Richmont, or Yoox in Italy. With this new step, Zalando is building up on its Zalando Premium concept, which deals with designer fashion.
