Zalando officially opened on Dec. 15 its first logistics center outside of Germany in Stradella, northern Italy. The 20,000-square-meter structure is supposed to cover the majority of Italian orders, and to respond to the increasing demand on the emerging Italian e-commerce market. The first products are already stored in Stradella but the first packages will be sent from the center in mid-January. According to Zalando, the facility is expected to create up to 350 new jobs. The pilot project in Italy is supposed to lead to the future expansion of Zalando's logistics network in Europe.
